Japanese translations of the Draft AI Regulation of the EU and related overview material: Hiroyuki Sanbe (Partner)

Hiroyuki Sanbe, Partner, prepared tentative Japanese translations of the Draft AI Regulation of the EU and related overview material under commission from the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan, which were published on the website of "The Conference Toward AI Network Society" of the Ministry.

 

This Draft AI Regulation (formally, proposal for a Regulation of the European Parliament and of the Council laying down harmonised rules on artificial intelligence (Artificial Intelligence Act) and amending certain Union legislative acts) of the EU will affect Japan as one codifying horizontal rules concerning AI. This is the first time that a Japanese governmental authority has published a full translation of the Draft AI Regulation.
