Taiwan
Our Taiwan Practice Group consists of experienced Japanese and Taiwanese attorneys and draws on the experience they have gained in both Taiwan and Japan. Where relevant, we work with local top-tier Taiwanese law firms to provide prompt and accurate legal support and advice in order to resolve various legal issues unique to Taiwan, as well as cross-border disputes (including litigation and arbitration) between Japan and Taiwan.
We also provide legal support for Japanese companies in various international transactions in Taiwan. This includes M&A, company entry and exit, incorporating local subsidiaries, intellectual property, personal information protection and cyber security, human resources and labor management, compliance with legislation affecting specific industries such as finance and medical equipment, litigation and arbitration, various procedures before government agencies (including customs and foreign currency control regulations), disputes and negotiations with governmental authorities.
Further, we provide comprehensive legal services for Taiwanese companies entering the Japanese market, including acquisitions, capital increases, joint ventures, visa acquisition, establishment and daily operations of Japanese subsidiaries, human resources and labor management, securing real estate, compliance, etc., under both Japanese and Taiwanese law. In particular, A&S Fukuoka Law Office (Representative Attorney: Yasuhiro Usui), provides more than just advice on legal issues relating to Taiwanese companies expanding into Kyushu. If a foreign corporation establishes an APAC’s headquarter in Japan, we can support such businesses, as our legal support covers Japan, Taiwan and South Korea.
In response to the recent global situation, we take the utmost care in handling information on Taiwanese companies, managing such information independently from our clients in other countries and ensuring that lawyers outside the Taiwan Practice Group do not have access to such information.
Currently, the Taiwan Practice Group includes Japanese and Taiwanese attorneys who can offer services in Japanese, Chinese, and English, and where necessary, we cooperate with top-tier law firms in Taiwan to provide high-quality legal support.
