Since 2011, we have provided legal services to clients doing business in Vietnam by seconding Japanese attorneys to a leading Vietnamese law firm. Building on the experience and expertise gained through those secondments, we have now established Atsumi & Sakai Vietnam Law Firm in Ho Chi Minh City, the economic center of Vietnam, as our first overseas base in Southeast Asia; the new office will provide both Japanese and Vietnamese law advice, and also advice on the practical aspects of doing business in Vietnam. The new office will also enable us to further expand our legal services to countries in the Mekong region - Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and Myanmar.
