Atsumi & Sakai has entered into a formal association with the Tokyo-based Janssen Foreign Law Office as of July 1, 2013.

As of July 1, 2013, Atsumi & Sakai has entered into a formal association with the Tokyo-based Janssen Foreign Law Office, headed by Mr. Markus Janssen, a registered foreign lawyer qualified in the Federal Republic of Germany. With this, Janssen Foreign Law Office will change its official name to Janssen Foreign Law Joint Enterprise with Atsumi & Sakai. Mr. Janssen's team will consist of the following attorneys:

1) Mr. Markus Janssen, Registered Foreign Lawyer (the laws of the Federal Republic of Germany)
2) Dr. Georg Bissen, admitted in the Federal Republic of Germany
3) Dr. Christoph Rademacher, admitted in New York
4) Mr. Ulrich Hildenbrand, admitted in the Federal Republic of Germany
※ Other than Mr. Janssen the above attorneys are not currently registered in Japan as Registered Foreign Lawyers and do not practice law in Japan.

Mr. Janssen, the representative partner, has over twenty years practical legal experience in Japan working for a range of clients in various industries, and is particularly experienced in large cross-border matters and projects, possessing an intimate understanding of German and Japanese transactions and business practices that goes beyond knowledge of laws and regulations.

Our new foreign law joint enterprise will enable both of our firms to further enhance and utilize our skills and know-how on corporate matters.
