Australia/New Zealand

Atsumi & Sakai's Asia-Pacific Practice Group has over 25 years’ experience advising clients from this region, providing a wide range of legal services by leveraging a market-leading combination of lawyers admitted in Australia and Japan..

Our Australian lawyers are both partners and, between them, admitted in the States of New South Wales, Queensland and Victoria. They are currently licensed to practice respectively in New South Wales and Queensland law, and are both registered as foreign lawyers in Japan.

They have between them many years of experience advising, together with their Japanese colleagues, Australian clients doing business in Japan, and vice-versa.

Both are long-standing members of the Australian and New Zealand Chamber of Commerce in Japan, providing our firm with a wealth of information on these regions, as well as contacts with embassies and trade and investment commissioners from this region.

The team has particular strengths in M&A, joint ventures, real estate, general corporate, commercial agreements, sports law, IP/IT, sustainability, and dispute resolution.
