Antitrust Investigations (Overseas)
In international cartel cases or international merger control cases, it is not uncommon to require simultaneous actions in more than 10 jurisdictions. With the help of our international network, together with our own foreign lawyers with experience in this field, we support our clients from the commencement to the conclusion of an investigation. Our support includes:
- Assisting with internal investigations and sharing the results among multiple jurisdictions
- Responding to on-site investigations
- Handling inquiries or subpoenas from foreign authorities
- Submitting waiver requests
- Assistance with dawn raids
- Responding to media inquiries
- Negotiating with foreign authorities
- Hiring economists
- Overall management of cross-border investigations
- Coordinating structural/behavioral measures to resolve issues and problems
- Providing advice on document management in each jurisdiction to secure attorney-client privilege
- Assisting clients with the selection of overseas counsel based on our personal relationships with leading antitrust lawyers in major jurisdictions
- Assisting with private enforcements, including discovery and deposition
- Assisting with criminal cases in offshore jurisdictions
